Home| The United Relief Fund (TURF) is a joint disaster response effort of the Atlantic Northeast and Southern Pennsylvania Districts of the Church of the Brethren. Since the early 1990's, a portion of the funds from the Disaster Relief Auction are allocated to this partnership to be used by Church of the Brethren congregations and related agencies to meet the disaster response needs in the two districts. Over $833,000 has been disbursed for TURF grants and programs since its founding. Grant applications may be submitted by any Church of the Brethren congregation or related agency in the two partner districts. The districts have established guidelines for TURF to follow in awarding grants to respond to individual family and community needs. The TURF Committee, made up of representatives from the two participating districts, urges all congregations to become more involved in ministry to those in need in our communities. Thanks to all who participate in this worthy effort by making purchases each year at the Disaster Relief Auction. Thanks to the Auction Board and Committees for making these funds available to The United Relief Fund for use by our congregations and the Church of the Brethren related agencies. |
